a new church for Athens

Immanuel Presbyterian Church is a church plant out of Redeemer Presbyterian.

Our core group is meeting monthly in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home.

We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America.

  • Matt grew up near Augusta, but has been in Athens since 1999 when he came to attend UGA. After college, he worked in financial services before coming on staff as a pastoral intern at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in 2012. He served for ten years as an associate pastor at Redeemer. He is married to Nan and has 5 children (Lelia, Matthew, Jr., John, Sam, and Katherine). Matt is a graduate of the University of Georgia (BBA, 2003) and Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (MDiv, 2016)
